styling-the-perfect-fall-coffee-table-home-decor-blogger-tips-tricks-centerpiece-vintage-antique-library-table-books-initialHello and welcome to the second round of our Blogger Home Coffee Table Tour. Yup! You have 11 of the best bloggers sharing their tips and tricks to styling a perfect coffee table.  If you are coming from Too Chic For Words  hello there! Susanna happens to be one of my favorite blogger friends. She always always has a chic and glamorous vignette up her sleeve.  Don’t you love that Dior mug?  Last month I shared our Summer Lake House and this month I’m happy to be giving you a glimpse inside our living room in Pittsford.

While others are rushing into Christmas, I am taking my own sweet time milking the last few days out of Fall. We have had some of the most beautiful weather here in Upstate NY and the colorful foliage has been nothing short of breathtaking.  It’s no secret that I love color and this month i’m keeping it simple.  I brought some autumnal colors indoors and postponed Winter for another month!

styling-the-perfect-fall-coffee-table-home-decor-blogger-tips-tricks-centerpiece-vintage-antique-library-table-beautiful-fireplace-mantel-owlsI’ve never shared my living room so I’d love to give you a little background info. Our living room is the second largest room in our home at 22 by 27 feet. I knew I had to have this home once I set my eyes on the wall of windows and it’s tall ceiling heights but this room was a challenge to decorate.  Can you imagine 20 feet in between sofas!  The solution? Creating multiple seating areas. The center of the room has two linen slipcovered sofas and in the middle is a very large coffee table that used to be a library table.  I know you all are probably cringing now but I had to do it. I cut the legs down so that beautiful antique table could have a home other than in the garage.  We love it will all it’s scratches, imperfections, and cracks.

Now what to put on it. In the Summer months I have a large white square tray that I purchased from PBTeen that brightens up the wood but in the Fall the tray gets put away and I add my staples. GREENS, VOTIVES, AND BOOKS.  Pretty much every tablescape that I do has these three elements. They may vary within but Its a full proof recipe for a beautiful arrangement.

The centerpiece is a Carrera marble and glass votive holder from Arhaus Furniture. I removed the candle and filled her with colorful gourds, pumpkins, acorns, moss and seeded orbs. These floral fillers are the best. I never quite paid attention to them until I needed to fill bowls, canisters and jars in my model homes.  I found the red wooden fillers and white corn husk pumpkins in the candle and potpourri aisle at HomeGoods. The uses for them are endless. Its now one of the first things I look for when shopping.

I flanked the glass votive with two rustic grass planters. The grass brightens up the dark wood table. These grasses will make an appearance next Spring when I add decorative eggs.  I then added a stack of small books. I love anything vintage and have a collection of mini books that have become my favorite accessories.  The top book is a collection of Scottish tartan plaids. If you’ve been watching my Instagram stories then you know that I’ve been having an affair with plaids lately. Click here to follow along and go behind the scenes of my decorating adventures. An iron “A” paperweight sits atop the trio.

A sweet little soapstone beaver figurine hangs out. I found him a few Summers ago at a yard sale for $.25.  He was so cute and for the price I just couldn’t pass him up.

A vintage italian majolica tray holds the remote and reader glasses.  I finished off the vignette with a stack of art deco Bakelite and twine drink coasters.

Just beyond the coffee table is the fireplace. On the mantel is my white ceramic owl collection. They stick around all year round but make their way to different locations around the house. A marquee letter B becomes the best night light ever! It’s sandwiched in between  cut logs from a fallen tree.

On the other side of the fireplace is the dining area. A simple linen and cream table runner highlights a gold branch candelabra, gourds, more floral fillers and a trio of handmade vintage fabric pumpkins purchased at the Country Living Magazine Fair in Rhinebeck, New York last year.  (If you ever get the chance to attend a CLM Fair …GO! The vendors, speakers and antiques are out of this world.)

Simple and easy tablescapes are a must in this busy household. One tug of the runner and this table is ready for entertaining, craft projects or spreading out the homework!
